Foxboro Historical Society
The May meeting – and final meeting of the season – of the Foxboro Historical Society will feature Foxboro Town Historian Jack Authelet in a special Memorial Day program entitled "The Supreme Sacrifice."
WARREN HARDING of Foxboro (left, kneeling in picture) was a member of Bombing Squadron 109, the first American unit to land on Saipan in 1944. Listed as missing in action after his plane went down, his body was later recovered on the island of ChiChi Jima but details of his death remained a mystery for decades following the war.
Town Historian Jack Authelet will share many details about Warren's heroic military service and how his story finally became public in his presentation "The Supreme Sacrifice" at the Foxboro Historical Society meeting on May 27.
