Our "Pay As You Throw" Trash/Recycling program is open to single family and 3 unit or less apartment residences. To participate in this program you need to call the Highway Department Trash/Recycling line at 508.543.1224. The cost of this service is $180 a year billed semi-annual at $90.00. If payment is not received by the 15th of the following month, account will be put on stop service.

Trash barrels and loose items need special tags that can be purchased for a nominal fee at local stores. For small amounts of trash, special bags may be used instead. If you have any questions on what can and cannot be put curbside please call 508.543.1224.

** IMPORTANT **

Barrels over 32 gallons require two tags on the handle (weight limit 50#).
Trash and Recycling MUST be curbside by 7 a.m. and properly tagged.
DO NOT place recycling in plastic bags.
When there is a holiday, collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.

No CONSTRUCTION material accepted
No large pieces of clean cardboard are to be put in trash. Must be broken down and put into recycling.

Furniture - 1 tag, (example: couches, chairs, bureaus)
Mattress - $25.00 fee. Pay at the highway Department
Box Springs - Call for alternative method of disposal.
Paint - Latex/Water based, ½ can or less may be dried out or solidified with hardener, sand, or kitty litter.
Rugs - 1 tag, rolled up and tied, not over 25# each roll.
Stereos - VCR's - 1 tag

 
 
     
Metal/Appliance - Bulk Pickup
 
 
 
 
Bulk Pickup is every Friday by appointment. Please call AWS @ 1-800-248-8898 Ext 27 early in the week and listen to the recording. Give your name, address, telephone number and items to be picked up. Limit two items.
 
     
 

AC units - 1 tag
Appliances - 2 tags (stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher) 1 tag (toaster oven, microwave)
Bathtubs, Sinks (cast iron) - 1 tag
Computers, Monitors, CRT's, Fax Machines, Dehumidifiers, TV's - 1 tag
Grills, Lawn Mowers (fluid drained) - 1 tag
Metal - 1 tag (example: exercise equipment, bikes, pipes, wheelbarrows, bed frames, file cabinets, aluminum gutters in 3 ft bundles not over 30 #)
Refrigerators - Freezers (doors off) -
Water heaters
- 2 tags
Tires (no other auto parts) - 1 tag

No broken or other glass such as light bulbs, window or auto glass, dishes, glasses, Pyrex.
No paint or aerosol cans.
No motor oil or chemical containers
No styrofoam - packaging materials
No flower pots
No toys
