Compost Area Information

The Compost Area located at 71 Elm Street is now closed for the winter. Operating hours are Monday through Saturday Compost Area Informationfrom 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Stickers are required at no charge and residents who have not already been issued one may obtain them at the Highway Department at 70 Elm Street by bringing in their vehicle registration.

Leaves, brush and grass (4" thick and up to 4 ft in length) will be accepted.

Drop off sites are indicated
and there is a receptacle for the disposal of plastic bags.

PLEASE

  • No Stumps
  • No Construction Material
  • No trash

Periodically, there are wood chips, compost and low-grade mulch available.

Note: Compost area will be open December 26th through January 12th for
Christmas tree disposal. Clean Trees only. No Nails, No Decorations.

Rechargeable only - bring to the lower level of the Library and Town Hall during normal operating hours.

 

 
 
Mercury Items:
 
 

Light bulbs, thermometers, tubes, fluorescents, etc can be brought to the Highway Dept every Monday (holidays excluded) 7:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Open all year.

 
 
Motor Oil & Filters:
 
 
Bring to the Highway Garage, Monday through Friday, 7:30 - 3:45 p.m.
 
     
 
Paint:
 
 
Oil based, stains, varnishes and paint thinners can be dropped off at the Highway Garage every Monday (holidays excluded) 7:30 to 3:45 p.m. April - November. Latex paint can be dried out with hardener and put in trash.
