Trip Policy for Non-Residents
Non-residents of Foxboro are always welcome to sign-up for trips through the Foxboro Senior Center, however, you will be placed on our out-of-town waiting list. Once Foxboro residents have had the opportunity to sign-up, we call non-residents on the waiting list. In most cases, we are able to accommodate everyone wishing to attend. If you’d like to join us on a trip, please call 508-543-1252 and state that you’d like to be placed on the out-of-town waiting list. Please note that each trip has a “sign-up date”, and we can only accept calls on, or after, that date.
PROVINCETOWN DISCOVERY SIGN-UP ON JULY 9TH
Sail away with us on Tuesday, September 2nd, as we take the Fast Ferry Special to Provincetown aboard the Provincetown III for a fun-filled day. Enjoy the sun and fresh air on your 90 minute fast ferry cruise, with complete galley service available.
There’s always a lot to do in Provincetown, and you will have easy walking access to this eclectic community filled with great shops and restaurants known for their fresh seafood.
We will depart at 6:30 a.m., leaving from Saint Mary’s parking lot. We will travel via motor coach to Boston and then set sail at 8:00 a.m. for beautiful Provincetown. At 3:00 p.m. we will sail back across Cape Cod Bay to Boston, arriving at 4:30 p.m. We will expect to arrive back in Foxboro at 5:30 p.m.
The cost for this entire day, including all modes of transportation and driver’s gratuity, is $51 per person and will be due on Friday, August 8th. WESTERN AND SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE TRAVEL PRESENTATION ON JULY 9TH
We are planning our “big trip” for 2009 to the Western and Southern Caribbean! Come and hear the travel presentation from Prime Travel and Norwegian Cruise Line on Wednesday, July 9th at 11:30 a.m. at the senior center.
On Sunday, April 19, 2009, we will be departing from Foxborough/Boston, flying to New Orleans where we will board Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Spirit for a 12-night cruise including stops in Costa Maya Mexico; Santa Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala; Belize City, Belize; Willemstad, Curacao; and Hamilton, Bermuda.
Your cruise program includes airport transfer, scheduled flights, cruise, meals, entertainment, and more! You will also experience “Freestyle Dining” for your meals which will allow you to dine when, where, and with whom you please.
Additional features will include a one hour cocktail party on board and $100 per cabin ship board credit. The price will be $1,819.90 for an inside cabin, $2,019.90 for an outside cabin, and $2,379.90 for a cabin with a balcony. All prices are for twin cabins and already include $280.90 for taxes and fees. Rates for other accommodations are available upon request.
The first payment of $650 will be due on or before July 25, 2008. The second payment of $650 will be due by October 24, 2008. The final payment for this trip will be due by January 16, 2009. You can receive a special cabin upgrade if you book your trip and pay the first deposit at the travel presentation on July 9th or by Wednesday, July 16th.

Magic Wings Butterflies
Come experience the wonderful world of butterflies as we travel to The Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory in Deerfield, MA, on Thursday, July 24th.
Enjoy a delicious luncheon featuring Yankee Pot Roast at the well renowned and historic 1705 Colonial Salem Cross Inn located in West Brookfield, MA. After lunch, we will have a one hour guided tour of the Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory which includes an 8,000 square foot glass conservatory filled with butterflies, moths, and tropical vegetation.
The sun shines through the glass walls creating a year-round tropical environment with a waterfall, a heart-shaped pond with Japanese koi, peaceful music, and hundreds of butterflies fluttering freely through the air. This tranquil and serene atmosphere is a sanctuary for all who visit.
On the way back home, we will visit the Yankee Candle Company. We will travel by comfortable motorcoach bus departing at 9:45 a.m. from St. Mary’s side parking lot and return by approximately 6-6:30 p.m.

Francis Farm Trip
Join us for a day of good old-fashioned fun on Tuesday, August 5th at Francis Farm in Rehoboth, MA. Francis Farm has been hosting outdoor clambakes for 100 years in their rustic, rural, country village setting.
We will enjoy a lunch of ‘all-you-can-eat’ clamcakes & chowder, plus a hamburger or a hotdog, potato salad, beans, watermelon, and coffee. Essential to enjoying a hearty meal is working up a big appetite, so take full advantage of the recreational areas with volleyball courts, bocce courts, softball field, basketball courts and horseshoe pits.
Visit the newly constructed museum of antique farm equipment and cars, including an original Monroe dairy truck. Spend time playing cards or bingo or just socializing. The place is yours for the day, and you are welcome to join others in both fun and relaxation.
We will travel by school bus to the farm, leaving Saint Mary’s parking lot at 10:00 a.m. and returning home by 3:30 p.m. The all-inclusive cost for the day is $20 per person. Payment will be due on Friday, July 11th.

THE FRIENDS OF FOXBORO SENIORSTRIP
The Friends of Foxboro Seniorswill be sponsoring a trip to the Reagle Players’ production of “No, No, Nanette” on Saturday, August 9th. This is a 2:00 p.m. show.
Set in the roaring 20’s in Manhattan and on the Atlantic City shore, this musical comedy is a multiple Tony Award-Winning show, starring Broadway’s Donna McKechnie as Lucille. You will recognize popular tunes, such as “Tea for Two” and “I Want to Be Happy.”
Tickets, including school bus transportation, will be $36, payable by check to “The Friends of Foxboro Seniors.” Sign-up begins on Saturday, June 14th, at the Friends’ meeting at 10:00 a.m. at the COA. Phone sign-up begins on Monday, June 16th, by calling Shirley Mather at 508.543.8823. Payment will be due by July 8th.
Adele French or Milli Greene will be available to take your check on any Monday or Tuesday afternoon at the COA. The bus will leave Town Hall Parking Lot at 12:30 p.m. and will return by 6:00 pm.
We will depart on September 12th and spend 7 days visiting sights that will include Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, Crazy Horse, historic Deadwood, Devil’s Tower, Custer State Park, and Badlands National Park.
The price is $1789 pp/dbl; $1779 pp/triple and $2139 single and includes air transportation, taxes and gratuities and 11 meals. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and sign up for this trip on the day of the presentation.
The payment schedule will be as follows: $600 due on January 4th, 2008; $600 due on March 14th, 2008 and final payments will be due on June 20th, 2008. All checks must be made out to Paragon Tours. A cancellation waiver is available for $75 per person and must be sent separately to Paragon Tours at time of deposit.
TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME
Come along and see the PawSox play the Charlotte Knights on Monday, August 11th. Tickets are $15 each and include the cost of the ticket as well as school bus transportation. Tickets will be available at the senior center on a “first-come-first-served-basis.” The bus will leave from St. Mary’s parking lot at 10:30 a.m. for the game at 12:05 p.m. Make checks payable to Friends of Foxboro Seniors.
