Senior Center Spring Sale
The senior center will be having its Annual Spring Sale on Saturday, May 31st from 8:30-11:30. We will have the usual variety of plants and baked goods.
In addition, we are selling 8 x 8 spaces at a cost of $15 each for you to sell your craft and flea market items. We will only provide the space, you must bring everything you need, and you will be responsible for taking it all away.
Attention all you gardeners, as the weather gets nicer and the perennials start coming up and need thinning, think of donating them to our plant sale. We have pots available for anyone needing them to transport the plants to the senior center, or you can place the roots of your plant in a plastic bag.
100% of the proceeds from the sales of plants and baked goods, in addition to the space rental fees, go towards the Friends of Foxboro Seniors for program development. To purchase your space or donate plants, call 508-543-1252. The sale goes on rain or shine … in the event of rain, we’ll move inside the building.

Come and Join the Wii Generation
Have you heard your grandchildren talk about playing the Wii? The Wii is a fun, virtual interactive game system which allows you to play games like bowling, tennis, and golf with other players in groups or teams. Now you can get in on the latest game system which has become popular in all age groups across the nation.
Chris McKenna, a candidate for Eagle Scout from Troop 7 Foxboro, has chosen to do an intergenerational service project with the Foxboro Council on Aging in order to ascend to the rank of Eagle. Chris has been fundraising to purchase a Wii system and games for our senior center. He will then hold instructional sessions to teach us how to use the system, followed by an intergenerational tournament of games between the Scouts and the Seniors!
A video demonstration of Chris playing the Wii system can be viewed on Foxboro Cable Access, Channel 22. The instructional sessions will be on Tuesday, May 13th and Thursday, May 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the senior center. The tournament will be on Tuesday, May 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Just drop-in during these times to join the fun!

Exciting LegalL Series Coming in June
Join us for an historical journey on the path to our nation’s independence. We will be offering a freedom/independence themed legal series in June by Professor Gary Hylander in partnership with Sage Educational Services. Dr. Hylander is a professor of American History at Stonehill College, Easton, where he specializes as a Presidential Historian. He is a frequent presenter at library forums, historical societies, senior centers, and civic and professional organizations. This 3-part series will be held at the senior center on June 2nd, 12th, and 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the senior center. Mark your calendars for the following dates and sessions:
Monday, June 2nd “When In The Course of Human Events: The Declaration of Independence”
On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Second Continental Congress. Drafted by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration still captures the essential spirit of America’s promise to itself and to the world.
Thursday, June 12th “We the People: The Constitution”
America’s Constitution is the oldest surviving written constitution in the world. We will explore the work of the delegates at the Constitutional Convention and the reasons why this document continues to give strength and liberty to a nation of 300 million people.
Monday, June 16th “The Bill of Rights”
We will examine the origins and contents of these first ten amendments, drafted by James Madison, and explain why without an inclusion of a Bill of Rights, the Constitution might never have been ratified by the States at all.
Please call 508-543-1252 to sign-up for this educational series.
